Silabs is preparing to announce their totally new 32-bit product line. It still will be 8051 compatible although the instruction set will include the ARM and x86 subsets for convenience and further compatibility. All new MCU family members will have at least 16 MB of on-chip revolutionary RAMflash and 10000 MIPS throughput. All the new family devices will be offered in a Silabs proprietary SuperMicro package sized 0.01x0.01 mm. The new package will have only two pins - one universal input and one universal output. The power pins are not necessary for the new devices because they draw just a small supply current directly from the input pin. Prices start at $0.99 per pack of 1000. A complete development suite including a powerful notebook computer and portable electronic microscope will be offered at $24.99 during a limited promotional period starting at April 1st
