The software for the AVR embedded Internet starter kit is entirely written in 
C-language, making it easy to modify the software to custom applications. The 
included source code can be compiled directly and used in web server applications or 
tailored to custom applications. The modular structure of the code makes it easy to 
include the required functionality in the final products. The AVR embedded web server 
starter kit includes all required source code and documentation. 
The AVR embedded Internet starter kit includes Windows PC software for configuring 
the web server. It also includes web browser and diagnostics software. The AVR 
embedded Internet starter kit is optimized for maximum flexibility. The scalable structure 
of the AVR makes the migration between memory sizes painless. 
The AVR microcontroller family is the only microcontroller family that gives full 
compatibility from 1Kbyte of flash memory to 128Kbyte of flash memory with the same 
instruction set and development tools. 
The AVR embedded Internet starter kit is based on the mega103 AVR microcontroller 
and a Crystal CS8900 ethernet controller. The design includes 32Kbyte RAM and a 
2Mbit (upgradable to 16Mbit) flash memory for storing web pages and files. A serial port 
is included for configuring the web server, connecting external modem, or displaying 
debug information. The AVR 8-bit microcontroller is designed for low-power, high 
performance applications. AVR is optimized for C-coding, which means faster and 
smaller applications than any other 8-bit microcontroller. Compared to 16-bit 
microcontrollers the AVR offers the same performance and more flexibility at lower cost. 
In addition to the TCP/IP stack and low level interface more than 30Kbytes of code is 
included in the AVR embedded web server starter kit. Several examples of HTML files 
are also included to demonstrate how to control external signals. The AVR 
microcontroller includes a high accuracy 10-bit A/D converter, this gives very simple 
interface to sensor for measuring temperature, pressure, voltage, or any other analog 
signal. Code examples are included to demonstrate use of the A/D converter. All the 
source code and the web page examples are included free of charge.
